The euro’s slide against the US dollar is likely to continue in 2019 despite the US Federal Reserve's pause on interest rate hikes, as Germany’s manufacturing recession worsens and the prospect of an unfavourable Brexit weigh on the currency, says Michael Hewson, chief market analyst at CMC Markets.
