Banks admit risk management lacking

CHICAGO - Around half of banks think their company-wide risk management systems are inadequate, according to research released last week.

Aleri, a Chicago-based vendor of complex event processing software, conducted research in June across 250 market participants, and across a range of asset classes. The results, released last week (July 13), found half of banks surveyed and more than three-quarters of the 15 hedge funds contacted still consider their risk management technology inadequate.
