Logica, Dene Jointly To Offer Global STP

TECHNOLOGY SPOTLIGHT

LONDON--Logica and Dene have formed a partnership that officials say will offer customers a complete, straight-through-processing (STP) solution for foreign exchange and money markets trading.

Logica, a computer consultancy and systems integrator, will offer integration and implementation support for Dene's foreign exchange and money markets electronic trading system, Gate3.

Dene's Global Automated Transaction and Executions (Gate) system, version 3 (Gate3), provides banks with the ability to offer corporate customers and branches automated FX trade pricing, order routing and transaction execution.

Gate3's front office to customer capacity was the missing link for Logica's STP solution for corporate banks, says Paul Foley, Dene's director of sales and marketing.

From Logica's standpoint, Gate3 will help corporate treasurers to reduce costs, says Paul Chipperfield, corporate banking consultant at Logica.

The partnership with Dene will help Logica populate its trade automation and electronic commerce architecture with a software product that is capable of extending an organization's external connectivity, reliability and operational performance, according to Dene.

Chipperfield says that its customers have pulled Logica into e-commerce solutions. Jerry Norton, business banking director at Logica agrees, "Our clients are demanding … sophisticated electronic trading, STP and automation solutions so they can design new services and distribution strategies to meet the preferences of their customers."

Logica offers worldwide support for Dene, allowing Dene to extend its offerings into new regions, with a staff of more than 8,000 in 23 countries.
