StanChart Opens Treasury Operations In Nigeria


LAGOS--Standard Chartered Bank has opened a treasury operation in Nigeria, the bank's eleventh in Africa, says Peter McLean, regional head of treasury for Africa.

Recent developments have made investment more attractive in the most populous African country.

Last month, the peaceful transition from military dictatorship to civilian government boosted hopes for economic recovery, and an agreement with the IMF is also under discussion.
