Brokers Discuss Idea Of Consortium To Provide Vendors With Price Data

Most of the major brokerages are joining forces to discuss the creation of a consortium that would sell a consolidated data feed to market data vendors, sources say.

The group, which would offer data on money markets instruments, foreign exchange and derivatives, has already met with senior Knight-Ridder officials and is in talks with Dow Jones Telerate, sources say.

The group, which meets in London, was spearheaded by Arthur Hughes, chief executive of the Fulton Prebon Group and Joe Hockey
