
Volatility plays havoc with cross-border M&A
Capital markets research firm Dealogic in London said last week that the deal value of eurozone bids for US targets so far this year is only $538 million -- for full year 2003, the total deal value in this category was $13.4 billion.
This comes despite rocketing domestic M&A deal volume -- by last week, US and eurozone domestic deal volumes had already reached half of the total of domestic M&A volume in the whole of 2003, according to Dealogic’s data.
