Esma renews ban on binaries once again
European regulator still sees risks for investors, can keep renewing as it likes
The European Securities and Markets Authority (Esma) is stretching out its ban on binary options for another three months, with the extension to take effect on April 2.
The financial regulator introduced a three-month prohibition on the marketing, distribution and sale of binary options to retail investors in the European Union on July 2, 2018. The measure was renewed as it ran out, in October 2018 and January this year.
Esma’s board of supervisors agreed to keep the intervention measure going
