Giancarlo confirmed as CFTC chairman

US Senate also confirms two commissioners

The US Senate voted unanimously on August 3 to confirm Christopher Giancarlo as chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and two others to serve as commissioners.

Giancarlo has served as acting chairman since Timothy Massad left the role on January 20, the day Donald Trump was sworn in as president.

In a press statement following the vote, Giancarlo said he was humbled by the bipartisan support received in the Senate.
