Most German Banks Report Solid Gains, Foreign Exchange Up In First Half of 1992

Two of the three big German banks had a good first half, with operating profits growing in double digits. And although the banks don't report foreign exchange earnings separately, it appears that they did well in this area as well.

Dresdner Bank's partial operating profits rose 20 percent to DM1.29 billion. Treasurer Rolf Willi comments that the banks "had a good first half, well above budget." The numbers, which he would not disclose, improved significantly over the figures for the same period
