Financial Ombudsman rules against CMC Markets

Initial opinion by FOS follows complaint over a client's losses

The UK's Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has upheld client complaints made against CMC Markets, claiming the retail broker changed the rates at which some Swiss franc trades were settled, causing losses to one of its clients.

The initial opinion by the FOS comes in response to a complaint made by a client over the losses it suffered after the Swiss National Bank (SNB) decided to remove the floor in EUR/CHF on January 15.
