February 12 trade reporting deadline – Failure warning

"The chances of all participants being ready for trade reporting in the European Union by the February 12 deadline are nil. Absolutely nil. That has been obvious for a long time, but it's anyone's guess what will happen when the date comes around."

This is not the sort of statement regulators want to hear coming out of the mouth of any market participant, especially one who, as in this case, has spent countless hours working on trade reporting issues over the past year.
