EBS volumes down in November

declining market

Trading on electronic foreign exchange platform EBS remains down year-on-year, although volumes recovered marginally in November after record lows in October, interdealer broker Icap revealed this week.

Average daily spot volume on EBS was $103.8 billion in November, up 12% month-on-month but down 28% year-on-year. EBS has been suffering from depressed volumes throughout 2012, but a combination of factors, including Hurricane Sandy in the US, led to a sharp drop in average daily volume to $92.6
