Electronic FX options market heats up

LONDON – RBS, HSBC and Morgan Stanley are due to begin streaming executable foreign exchange options prices through an application programming interface onto the FX Options on Reuters platform in coming months, indicating growing competition in the still-nacsent electronic FX options market.

According to a market source, RBS is due to be the first of the three to go live, with a scheduled launch over the anonymous interdealer broking system on November 30. Morgan Stanley is tipped to be live by
