December trading volume in combined currency options on Matif totalled 9,054 contracts, a more than 1,150 per cent improvement over the previous month, and the daily average reached 431 contracts. Month-end open interest for combined currency options totalled 3,375 contracts outstanding, a 49 per cent decline from November. US dollar/French franc currency options volume totalled 8,751 contracts and average daily volume was 417 contracts. Open interest at the end of December reached 1,775
