Merck & Co. Chooses IRC/Hedge System To Manage FX Exposures

Merck & Co. Inc. has chosen California-based software developer International Risk Control (IRC), Inc.’s IRC/Hedge system to help manage its foreign exchange exposures. Merck is the first of two corporations that have implemented the system since its launch a month ago.

Gary Sender, foreign exchange manager at Merck, says that he uses the system, a decision support system that draws on complex algorithms, to hedge the company’s spot forward currency exposures.
