UBS Hires Six Ex-Lloyds Dealers To Build Sydney-Based FX Team

Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) last month hired a team of six forex dealers from the former Lloyds Bank NZA in Sydney, which was due to begin trading under ABN Amro Australia on January 1. ABN announced its plans to acquire LBNZA late last year (FXW, December 2).
David Beale, formerly joint treasurer at LBNZA, was named head of the forex operation for UBS. Beale was slated to co-head the FX group with ABN's John Sharpe, according to ABN's treasurer in Sydney, Peter Nichols.
