Currency Swap Market Hits Peak In Second Half Of '90, ISDA Says

The size of the currency swap market reached record proportions in the last six months of 1990, according to the latest survey by the International Swap Dealers Association, Inc. (ISDA). The ISDA market survey, which includes the results of major banks and financial institutions in Europe, Asia, Australia and North America revealed that the notional value of currency swaps, adjusted for double counting, reached a new peak of $118 billion in the six month period ended December 31, 1990.
