Australian Forex Group Establishes Start Time For Global Trading Week

In a move which underlines the importance of Sydney's time zone and perhaps its re-emergence as a viable foreign exchange trading centre, the Australian Forex Association recently issued a recommendation clarifying the start of the global trading week, officials say.

The start of trading is now considered 7:00 a.m. (Wellington, N.Z. time), and will be included in the Association Cambiste Internationale's code of conduct, says Jeffrey Mitchell, president of the Australian Forex group.
