Hong Kong Futures Exchange Launches British Pound Contract

The Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) recently launched a British Pound futures contract, adding a third currency to its existing 'rolling forex' product range, which first launched a year ago (FXW, October 30, 1995).

The Deutsche mark and Japanese yen were the first 'rolling forex' products, launched in November 1995. The official says the HKFE will probably launch extra currencies, depending on the outcome of surveys designed to gauge demand.
