Finex Europe Opens Dublin Trading Floor In Hope Of Backing From Major Players


Finex has become the first exchange with open outcry trading floors on two continents, but the jury is still out on whether the New York financial futures exchange's Irish satellite venture launched in Dublin on June 17 will succeed (FX Week, January 17).

First-day volume of 8,800 contracts valued at $861 million was described by some market sources as "spectacular" yet in the next three days official figures show that volume fell to 1,037 contracts worth roughly $101 million on June 20; 452
