Property pressures the pound

Accelerated financial markets deregulation over the past 10 years has given private investors unprecedented access to credit, prompting borrowing for property to surge. In the UK, this has pushed property growth rates to exceed 10% for over three years.

And with the Bank of England (BoE) reporting UK homeowners’ mortgage equity withdrawal (the amount of an investors’ income attributed solely to their property’s price rise) represents 8.1% of household disposable income, markets have raised valid
