Dollar dive helps set new CME records

Tuesday’s (December 9) FX futures and options on futures volume of 431,481, with an underlying value of $48 billion topped the previous record of 369,548 (underlying value $39 billion), which had only been set the previous day.

In individual currencies, records were set on December 8 in Kiwi dollar (8,959 contracts traded); in open interest in yen contracts (180,326); sterling (86,230); Australian dollar (73,803) and South African rand (8,602 contracts).
