UBS triumphs in currency derivatives

The Swiss bank has maintained its dominance in vanilla currency derivatives, according to Risk’s annual interbank poll, achieving top position for euro/dollar, dollar/yen, euro/yen, sterling/dollar, euro/sterling and dollar/Swiss franc. It also improved its position in exotics, knocking Credit Suisse First Boston off the top spot in dollar/yen barriers, euro/dollar barriers and binary/digitals.

The majority of the interbank currency business consists of traditional options -- complex or hybrid
