Japan FSA bans Citibank

TOKYO - The Japan Financial Services Authority (FSA) has placed an enforcement against Citibank Japan, banning it from selling and marketing products to new clients. However, this does not extend to its investment banking division, according to a Citibank official.

The regulator issued a ban last Friday (June 26) ordering the bank to suspend sales activities, including advertising and solicitation covering all products handled by its retail banking division, for risk management and compliance
