During almost two years at the helm of EBS, chief executive Gil Mandelzis has brought a very distinct style of leadership to Icap’s flagship FX business, with a vision centred on market leadership and diversification into new ventures. Last year saw mixed results; while several ambitious initiatives came to fruition, EBS’s daily volume plummeted to record lows as it suffered the effects of low volatility in its core currency pairs and an increase in bank internalisation.
