Instinet, the execution services arm of Nomura Group, is preparing to launch a foreign exchange agency trading business as a new addition to its core equity capabilities, suggesting the firm has found a compelling way to connect the two businesses.

The new platform provides existing equities-trading clients of the firm’s Newport execution management system (EMS) with the ability to synchronise FX execution with equity orders to take advantage of aggregated netting opportunities.
