Hotspot FX takes a hit from Hurricane Sandy

Hotspot FX, the electronic communication network (ECN) owned by Knight Capital Group, was hit by a power cut at its New Jersey headquarters yesterday, forcing the ECN to request that client orders be sent elsewhere.

Knight Capital began notifying its clients yesterday morning when it became apparent the effects of Hurricane Sandy were likely to affect several of its trading platforms as its generators experienced difficulties due to power  supply issues in New Jersey.
