Survey shows investors split over high-frequency trading

Institutional investors are divided over whether regulations should be introduced to curb high-frequency trading. The results of a survey by Connecticut-based research and consulting company Greenwich Associates, released on October 21, found 45% of respondents believe high-frequency trading damages the market by increasing trading costs. However, 36% think it benefits the market by providing liquidity.
