Market upbeat on Reuters’ Q4 decline

In the pre-results announcement, Reuters said the rate of cancellations for subscription-based terminal products such as 3000 Xtra -- a market data product with FX content -- the Reuters Trader Workstation and BridgeStation had fallen from the previous quarter.

Although Reuters based its calculations on the overall figure for cancellations when netted against new subscribers, the actual cancellation rate is also slowing, said a Reuters spokesperson. As a result, Reuters predicts that recurring
