360T lures JPMC’s Mohr
Mohr joins the firm in Frankfurt as senior manager, corporate sales, and starts work on April 7, reporting to Moritz von der Linden, chief operating officer and head of sales.
Mohr told FX Week that her decision to join 360T was driven by the firm’s position in the market and its future potential. "360T is the future for Germany and Europe," she said. "They are very enthusiastic people and it’s not owned by banks, which sets it apart from other providers in this space."
She added that 360T was keen to bring her on board in a bid to add some practical FX market experience. "They were very motivated to bring me in, as I have been in the market for some time and they haven’t."
360T, which operates a multi-bank, multi-asset class trading platform, also licenses its technology to corporate treasuries and was launched in October 2001.
Recent years have seen a glut of FX professionals moving between banks and technology firms -- and back again. The trend began in 2000 when plans for bank-owned multi-bank FX portals FXall and Atriax surfaced. Employees were seconded from shareholding banks to work on the new platforms. Many subsequently returned to the dealing floor, but it was the collapse of Atriax in May 2002 that intensified the exodus.
Some of Atriax’s former 84 staffers, notably Dave Reid and LeAnn Jones -- both now at AIG Trading -- resurfaced at banks, but many, such as Atriax chief executive and former Deutsche Bank global options head Dan Morehead, did not return to the market.
Mohr joined JP Morgan Chase in London last October as head of corporate FX sales to Germany, reporting to Eric Robin, co-head of European FX sales. A replacement will be announced shortly, said a spokesperson for the bank in London.
