Faulty switches ground Globex
Speaking to FX Week on Friday (May 2), the CME said it had replaced the faulty component, and was working internally and with its vendors to prevent a recurrence of the problem.
The CME has reported growing volumes, both in FX and on the Globex platform in recent months. Indeed, it said two weeks ago that increasing use of the electronic platform was responsible for record volume in FX futures in March (FX Week, April 28).
A spokesperson for the CME in Chicago said that growth is not threatened
