CLS hits new record as FX volumes spike

Settlement risk mitigation utility CLS recorded its highest-ever daily volumes earlier this week, following a spike in foreign exchange trading as a result of renewed optimism and investor activity.

CLS settled 2,978,118 payment instructions on May 28 across both its core settlement and  aggregation services, topping the previous peak of 2,621,054 recorded on January 22. The record volume came after a marked increase in activity on May 23, and the public holiday in the UK and US on May 27.
