Euro growth continuing, says ECB

In a report published on July 9, the ECB's 2007 figures show an increased use of the currency, especially in interest rate derivatives and in foreign central bank reserves. In interest rate derivatives, the euro accounted for 38.9% of turnover and 37.8% of notional principal outstanding. This is higher than the dollar's 31.6% and 31.8% respectively. "The euro's share outpaces that of any other currency in the market for interest rate derivatives," the report said.
