As part of its move to a new trading floor in Toronto (FX Week, December 19), the Bank of Nova Scotia is porting its trading room systems over to its adopted standard platform of Unix-based Sun Microsystems SPARCstations and Sybase's relational database management system, officials say. The initiative is another step towards the bank being able to aggregate risk exposures from its trading business on a consistent basis with the ultimate objective-- "time and money permitting" --of aggregating
