Globex Partners Consider Computer Upgrade Could Push Start Date Back To 2nd Qtr., 1992

Executives at Globex--the futures-trading system under development by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and Reuters Holdings PLC--are discussing the need to upgrade the proposed system's host computer before its launch. If the partners decide to implement a new host system, Globex's startup date could slip toward the second quarter of next year, sources close to the project say.

The possibility of installing a more powerful host processor first emerged last fall
