Under pressure to improve its performance, Continental Bank in London severed its relationship with Tom Elliot, chief dealer of its spot desk, sources at the bank in London say. The parting appears to confirm reports that the London branch, which was chosen as Continental's worldwide foreign exchange center last year, has lost some of its luster, traders at the bank's home base in Chicago say.
