CIBC Plans To Grow Its FX Operation; Cornford Named To Head Global Efforts

The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), which has made a name for itself in the past two years as a market maker in the Canadian dollar, is looking to expand its horizons, officials there confirm. Look for CIBC to beef up its operation and increase its profile in the major currencies, says James Beqaj, president of subsidiary Wood Gundy Inc. and an executive vice president at CIBC.
