Prebon Yamane has apparently scrapped its plans to launch a currency options desk in New York. Even though sources there said that the firm was planning to open the desk immediately after opening its currency options desk in London, the broker has since changed its mind, officials there say. "Call me back in six months, but I don't think there will be any change," says one official there of the plan to cancel the proposed desk. Prebon opened a six-man currency options desk in London at the end
