One Firm Suspends Currency Hedging Program Volume Plummets In Finex's Dollar Index Options

The dollar's continued slide may be a blessing for currency fund managers, but it's wreaking havoc on currency hedge programs set up to protect portfolios against the dollar's rise. The effects have been particularly dramatic in the Finex's Dollar Index options pit. Activity in the contract, one of the most active currency options contracts in the world last year, has plummeted, due largely to the dramatic reduction in currency hedging activity.

In fact, traders active on the exchange say that
