As exchanges have gone on a shopping spree in over-the-counter FX markets, talk of a convergence between OTC and listed liquidity pools has intensified. Why would Deutsche Borse spend €725 million on 360T, and what reason does CME Group have for shelling out £3.9 billion for Nex Group?

FastMatch’s acquisition by Euronext is another example of the recent trend, which has seen large exchange operators venture into the predominantly OTC FX space. Further deals may be on the horizon.
