KRW is becoming uncompetitive

The Korean won real effective exchange rate (REER) is back up to levels last seen just before the Asian crisis. The key question is whether there is justification for the KRW REER being so strong. This question is particularly pertinent given the fact that other Asian regional currencies on a REER basis are still well below pre-Asian crisis levels. Granted
