Aussie outlook splits analysts

SYDNEY -- The Australian economy may be outperforming many major economies, including the US, yet the Australian dollar refuses to rally -- and analysts surveyed by FX Week were divided on which direction the currency will head over the course of the next 12 months.

"Growth in Australia is being supported by a recovery in the housing sector, fairly buoyant consumer demand and export growth that has been helped by the weak Australian dollar," Besa Deda, economist at Commonwealth Bank of Australia
