Fed likely to leave rates on hold as US recovery looms


WASHINGTON, DC -- The Federal Reserve is likely to leave US interest rates on hold this week as signs of a US economic recovery start to take shape, analysts told FX Week.

In a testimony to the US Senate last week, Fed chairman Alan Greenspan said he saw encouraging signs that the present US recession could be coming to an end.
