Bank Of England Confesses Puzzlement Over Euro Weakness, Gives Possible Explanations


LONDON--The Bank of England last week published Practical Issues Arising From The Euro, a twice-yearly look at the influence and importance of the euro to the UK economy and the euro area in which it confessed that "further euro weakness is puzzling and no wholly convincing explanation has yet been put forward".

However, the bank noted that some factors had gone some way to providing an explanation.

It listed five possible reasons.

The first was that despite encouragingly strong economic growth
