When it comes to mandatory central clearing, foreign exchange is something of a neglected middle-child, losing out to rates and credit, which have moved to clearing this year, at least in the US. Forex clearing is unlikely be mandated in the US before the second half of 2014, and even then only for non-deliverable forwards (NDFs).
