For Danish investment bank Saxo Bank, sourcing deep and robust liquidity from trusted providers and distributing it to its own retail clients has always been a priority.

In foreign exchange, Saxo operates with up to 14 liquidity providers, which represents a doubling since the financial crisis. Claus Nielsen, head of markets in Copenhagen, believes it essential to strike the right balance between having too few liquidity providers and too many.
