Algorithmic trading has long been dominated by Credit Suisse's Advanced Execution Services (AES) suite of strategies, tools and analytics, and 2011 has seen no assault on its superiority.

AES first emerged out of Credit Suisse's equities division a decade ago and the group developed AES for FX in 2007. The evolution of the FX market since then and the imminent implementation of the Dodd-Frank Act and review of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (Mifid) will only play to its strengths
