

FX options’ MDP migration
Volumes on multi-dealer platforms are climbing, but dealers warn pricing may not be optimal
While foreign exchange spot is one of the most highly electronified products in the market, options have long lagged behind because of their complexity and relative lack of liquidity.
But not only are they increasingly being traded electronically, dealers and platforms have seen growth in volumes on multi-dealer platforms (MDPs), where users can send requests-for-quote (RFQs) to a number of dealers at the same time.
Between 2018 and the end of Q1 2024, MDPs saw average daily volumes (ADVs)
