Duisenberg Urges Changes In Bonuses At Amsterdam Euroforex '95 Congress

A call for an overhaul of the bonus system in foreign exchange and other trading was made by Dr. Willem Duisenberg, president of the Nederlandsche Bank and of the Bank for International Settlements, at the Association Cambiste Internationale's Euroforex '95 congress in Amsterdam.

Speaking on a panel about the derivatives market and risk management, he said that the Dutch central bank is recommending that dealer remuneration should be "sufficiently independent of short-term trading profits," and
