Twin Cities Aims For Sept. 10 Start DM/Pound Contract To Debut

The Twin Cities Board of Trade (TCBT) in Minneapolis, Minn. is hoping to open its doors Sept. 10 with the debut of its British pound-Deutsche mark futures contract, but industry observers are skeptical about its chances for success.

Even Sean O'Toole, president of the Minneapolis exchange acknowledges that "it is certainly a very long battle." He says "any new contract is nothing but mud thrown against the wall...and any new exchange is probably worse. That's why what we're trying to do is come
